Offering unto dear Gurudeva on his 70th Vyasa Puja

The below is our humble offering unto His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaja on his 70th Vyasa Puja

There was no hope left for us,
Until you mercifully accepted us in your mission
Your presence dispelled all darkness ,O holiness !,
you are an embodiment of compassion

Nitai preaches Gauranga’s glories through you
And the world now knows His fame
‘Gaura Gaura Gaura’ !!! Like Sukhadeva we cannot help now
But chant His holy name

Ignoring limitless pain ,your holiness
You mercifully provide us with your association
A loyal soldier of Mahaprabhu, you continue to fight
Till Goloka, the tales of your valour are sung

Without You, Gurudeva, who could have rescued us?
Who could have shown us the way ?
May we remain eternally attached to your lotus feet,
Unto all previous acharyas we pray

Jiva Goswami’s Navadvipa Parikrama with Lord Nityananda

jiva goswami

Sri Jiva Goswami left his home in Candradvipa, at a very early age, and began crying ‘Nadia’ , ‘Nadia’ out of an intense eagerness.Calling out the names of Gauranga and Nityananda he finally arrived at Navadvipa. People were startled to see the effulgent attractive form of Jiva Gosai, who was performing great renunciations. He wanted to meet Nityananda prabhu, and begged the people to take him to the Lord. Swayed by great compassion, Nityananda Prabhu accepted Jiva and embraced him. Jiva Goswami then glorified Nityananda Prabhu. He exclaimed that Nityananda prabhu, who was none other than Lord Balarama, was the very form and the abode of the universe. Addressing himself as an insignificant living entity, Sri Jiva expressed how only by receiving the causeless mercy of Nityananda Prabhu, can one achieve the lotus feet of Lord Gauranga. If Lord Gaurahari punishes someone, that person can still be protected by Lord Nityananda. However one rejected by Nityananda prabhu is never accepted by Sri Caitanya. Jiva Goswami begged Nityananda Prabhu for His causeless mercy, and seeked His permission so that he could receive Lord Gaurahari’s darsana and developed attachment unto Him.

Gauranga Prema (love) – The essence of Bhakti (devotion)

prembag

An Excerpt from our Book – Sri Chaitanya Mangala (Sutra Khanda)

– Diptiman Gaurahari das & Diptimayi Vishnupriya devi dasi

Yata yata avatara saba haite sar
Kabhu nahi dekhi heno premar bhandar
Safal janam din, safal nayan
Ki dekhilun Gaura rupa , prasanna bayan
(Chaitanya Mangala , 2.121-122)

Translation –
(Narada muni says) ‘Of all the Lord’s incarnations , Lord Gauranga is the best. I have never ever seen such a reservoir of pure ecstatic love. My life has become successful, my eyes have borne fruit, as today I have been able to behold the beautiful form of Lord Gauranga with His pleasant, blissful, smiling face’.

Sri Chaitanya Mangala is an expression of Sri Locana das Thakura’s transcendental ecstasy. It is a spontaneous  outflow of the intense feelings of love and devotion he possesses for Lord Gauranga, the supreme personality of Godhead. It has been composed with such ecstasy and poetic rhythm ,that simply reading it is sufficient to evoke within one the emotions of divine love and attachment for Sri Krishna Caitanya.

Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, is none other than the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who had appeared in this world out of His causeless mercy to establish the yuga dharma of congregational chanting of the names ,glories and pastimes of the supreme Lord (Himself).

Krishna-varnam tvishakrishnam sangopangastra-parshadam,yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi sumedhasah
(Srimad Bhagavatam, 11.5.32)

– In the age of Kali, intelligent persons perform congregational chanting to worship the incarnation of Godhead (Gauranga) who constantly sings the holy name of Krishna. Although His complexion is not blackish, He is Krishna Himself. He is accompanied by His associates, weapons , servants, and confidential companions.

Lord Chaitanya had descended to flood this world and its people with an intense ecstasy of love of God, that shall be instrumental in mitigating all sufferings and elevating one to the state of ultimate perfection.  This was one of the primary reasons why Lord Gauranga had appeared in this world (500 years ago, 1486 AD). The mood and mission of Lord Chaitanya has been summarized in the below verses :

Today (14-April-2018) ,being the eve of the Bengali New year – 1425, was the perfect opportunity for us to make this offering unto our beloved mother. On our request ,the temple priest has kindly agreed that Srimati Jahnava devi would adorn the new Saree tomorrow (Poila Baisakh).  We consider ourselves greatly fortunate to have been provided this opportunity.

Vyasa Puja homage unto Gurudeva (2018 – 69th Vyasa Puja)

The below is our humble offering unto our beloved Gurudeva on his 69th Vyasa Puja.

How fortunate i am to have lived this life,
and be able to try and serve,
How fortunate to have obtained your causeless mercy,
though not possessing anything to deserve

How fortunate to have relished the Lord’s pastimes,
to have tasted its ecstatic nectar,
How much sweeter , how very blissful they become,
when heard from your lips ,O Master.
